MINTUES FOR 01/10/06
January 16, 2006Meeting of January 10th,
George, our President is on vacation and Dale Schwartz has undergone knee

Mark Barnett introduced Kathy, his wife, to give a special presentation in
regards to the Medicare Prescription Drug Plan. Kathy explained how it
works and informed us of the options to the Gov. plan. There are 48 drug
plans by private organizations for our zip code 93446. This requires some
research for each of us. They are all different and cover different drugs.
So it is important to know the plan you choose will cover the drugs you take
on an ongoing basis. Kathy enlightened us considerably....she also gave us
a couple of web sites to research. http://Medicare.gov and
http://Carxe.org
Kathy did quite a lot of research on our behalf and we all thank her for
the effort. Kathy previously was a nurse with health issue experience so
she is well informed on this subject. It is a complex isssue for us and the
more you ask questions and/or research yourself, the better prepared you
will be. Kathy made a point of the unfair scare tactics used by the gov. in
reference to the penalty imposed upon us if we don't sign up for the
Medicare Prescription Drug Plan by May and urged us to call or write our
local and state and gov. representatives to oppose this. Thank you Kathy
